By accessing or using DoctorBay (“the Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. These Terms apply to all users including patients, doctors, and visitors.
2. Description of Service
DoctorBay is an online directory of Australian specialist doctors that allows patients to search for specialists, read and submit verified reviews, and access practice information. DoctorBay is not a booking service, medical advice provider, or healthcare operator.
3. No Medical Advice
Nothing on DoctorBay constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The information on our Platform — including doctor profiles, reviews, and directory listings — is provided for general informational purposes only. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions. In an emergency, call 000.
4. User Accounts and Doctors' Portal
Doctors may register for a portal account by claiming their profile. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must not share your login with others. DoctorBay reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Submitting Reviews
By submitting a review, you warrant that:
- → You are a genuine patient of the specialist being reviewed
- → Your review is honest, accurate, and based on your personal experience
- → Your review does not contain defamatory, offensive, or misleading content
- → Your review does not disclose protected health information about yourself or others
- → You have not been incentivised or compensated to write the review
DoctorBay reserves the right to reject, edit, or remove any review that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines. Submitting false or malicious reviews may result in legal action.
6. Doctor Profile Information
Doctor profiles on DoctorBay are populated from publicly available AHPRA registration data and information provided by the doctors themselves. While we strive for accuracy, DoctorBay does not guarantee the completeness or currency of any profile information. Doctors are responsible for the accuracy of information they provide via their portal.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on DoctorBay — including text, design, logos, and software — is the property of DoctorBay or its licensors and is protected by Australian copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission. User-submitted reviews remain the property of the reviewer but grant DoctorBay a licence to publish and display them on the Platform.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DoctorBay is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including reliance on any information found on the Platform. Our total liability to you shall not exceed AUD $100.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of DoctorBay after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify registered users of material changes via email where reasonably practicable.
